TAG Heuer started off summer with a splash by releasing an expanded range of styles for their Connected watches. This release includes three new references that feature bold, summer-ready colors and styles. With this launch, TAG Heuer has also debuted some limited edition watch bands and a brand new watch face inspired by their famous tri-compax chronograph dial. The watch face, dubbed Helios, is available in a variety of customizations and is compatible with all Connected smartwatch generations.
Three New TAG Heuer Connected Watch Styles for Summer 2020
The new summer line of Connected watches features two stainless steel case models, both of which feature a 45 mm black dial and a blue ceramic bezel. The difference in the two new steel timepieces lies in their straps: one comes with a racing-grade blue rubber strap, while the other comes with a stainless steel bracelet.
This summer’s Connected launch also includes a rugged titanium model, designed to be ready for action. This model features a Grade 2 titanium case, a ceramic bezel with micro blasted PVD finish, a black steel crown, black steel buttons, a titanium buckle, and a sleek racing-grade black rubber strap.
New Special Edition Watch Bands
Each TAG Heuer model in the summer launch comes with a standard strap, but the Swiss watchmaking house has also released limited edition watch bands for those who are looking to enhance their watch’s summer vibes. The new straps for the Connected watch come in two particularly vibrant hues: neon yellow and lime green. Bear in mind that these two limited edition interchangeable straps are only compatible with the latest generation of Connected watches. They, unfortunately, can’t be paired with older Connected watches or other TAG Heuer watches, like your trusty Aquaracer or Monaco.
New TAG Heuer Helios Dial
With their summer collection, TAG Heuer also launched their new Helios dial for the Connected watch. This dial, inspired by TAG Heuer’s tri-compax chronograph dial and named for the Greek god of the sun, has a classic chronograph look and comes with numerous customization options. The Helios dial is available in four colorways: deep blue, peppermint green, cherry red, and dark summer night. The Helios dial can also be customized in terms of function, as it features two options for the face’s chronograph subdials. Wearers can choose from having classic stopwatch functions or choose a new digital option that shows sunrise and sunset times, a 10 hour weather forecast, and a second time zone.
Note that the Helios dial is available for all Connected watch generations. So, this part of the launch is something that both new and existing Connected watch owners can enjoy.
TAG Heuer Connected Watch Summer Collection Features & Functions
The latest TAG Heuer Connected wristwatches are a part of the third generation of TAG-Heuer Connected models, which debuted in June of this year. These summer models have all the same high-tech functionality as other third-gen models (minus the Connected Golf Edition’s exclusive software), wrapped up in a stylish new package. Like all other third-gen Connected watches, the new summer models feature the Mod Connect movement, powered by Wear OS by Google. This movement supports numerous services, including audio streaming, email, message notifications, Google Pay, and Google Translate. Also like other third-gen models, the new models feature sapphire glass screen protection, water resistance to 5 ATM, top-tier activity sensors, a heart rate sensor in the case back, and a 430 mAh battery that fully recharges its all-day power reserve in just 1.5 hours.
